Clingmans Dome, North Carolina

Clingmans Dome is the highest peak in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which means that on top of Old Smoky is...an observation tower. It was built in 1959, or a few years too late for Hank Williams.

One of America's most storied golf courses, Pinehurst No. 2, may also be its most manicured possible trespass. Texas State Fair
