This is a runway for paragliders, the last thing they see before they step off the top of a cliff. Afterward I imagine they see the Jet d'Eau in Lake Geneva.

Geneva has an "Official Chestnut Tree" and an official groundsman has been assigned to watch over it since 1818. When the first bud is spotted every year-- spring is official too.
