The Colonial is a grand old theater--or theatre I guess--and the dressing rooms have 20-foot ceilings. My ceiling had a tiny enticing trapdoor in it so I spent much of the time after my set looking around the backstage area for a ladder. That kind of thing is usually pretty easy to find backstage in a theater--or a theatre--but I got shut out. I bet John Philip Sousa found a ladder though. Barrymore certainly.
